Tarot card 13 Death I chose the Goddess Ceridwen and her cauldron of rebirth because this card signifies transformation as opposed to physical death. The Welsh Goddess Ceridwen is associated with the eternal cycle of life, death and rebirth. She tends the cauldron of wisdom and inspiration. Her totem animals are the white sow and the black hen. As white sow she is guardian of the underworld, keeper of souls. (updated 16.05.13, changed hen stock for my own photo and made a few minor alterations) Many thanks to the following stock artists: Soul: JCR Submerged-Emerging V by :[link] Photographer:*geoectomy :[link] Model: ModelMayhem: Nikki Rialp -:[link] Cauldron: Sutton Hoo Great Cauldron by :[link] Vines and tree: Tree vines and roots arch by :[link] Made by stock member Lauren Smoke: Smoke n' Flame Fractal by :[link] Crescent Moon: Crescent moon stock by :[link] Texture: 36 by :[link] Texture::thumb101259688: Background...Sky,Water by :[link] Stars::thumb101468239: Glitter brushes by :[link] Stardust in Ceridwen's hands: :thumb37337141: Space Photoshop Brushes by :[link] Ceridwen: Senior yoga meditation woman by Elenaray Image I.D:17615491 purchased from Dreamtime.com:[link] Black hen: Black Sussex Hen, photo by me Water in cauldron: Water background by Jonnysek Image I.D: #5554111 from fotolia.com:[link] White sow: Pig by GlobalP File #: 3302981 purchased from istockphoto:[link] Font:Starstruck font from dafont.com:[link]
I love it when people take a tarot card and express it in an entirely new way - not trying to be original at all costs, but understanding the meaning of the card and being able to come up with different symbolism that conveys the meaning just as well if not better. And that's clearly the case here in my opinion. Great work!
I'm so sorry for the tardy response, I'm so behind with messages. Thank you so much for the compliment.I have several tarot decks but I wanted to have a go at creating my own, so the cards in my series are my own personal interpretation, which may differ from the accepted meanings. I'm delighted you like it, thank you
